In summer, when the mountains bloom with color, Crested Butte takes on its role as the Wildflower Capital of Colorado. Hiking and mountain biking are available in an endless variety in the surrounding area. Other activities include fishing, horseback riding, jeep tours, golf, theatre, festivals, hot air balloon rides, chairlift rides and river rafting. As fall approaches, the aspen leaves change and the mountains turn golden heralding the approach of another winter. Fall colors on Kebler Pass and Ohio Pass close to Crested Butte are some of the most photographed and spectacular in the entire state.
